I’m the author or coauthor of nineteen books, including four NYT-bestsellers, which have been translated into 25 languages. A former editor at Popular Science magazine, I’ve written extensively about robots, AI, cosmology, and non-scientific topics like travel, swimming, and fitness. My work has been anthologized or noted in several editions of the Best American Science Writing and nominated for national and international awards. But I never win. I’ve also published eleven novels for adults and children in various genres.
What else? I’ve collaborated with Bill Nye, Susan Cain, Neil deGrasse Tyson, MIT AI Lab Director Daniela Rus, Mattel, and numerous technology thought leaders.
Generally, I specialize in simplifying complex topics for curious readers. Take a look at some of my work for examples.
My family and I live on an island-shaped brand called Martha’s Vineyard.
