Are You Going to Write Jack and the Geniuses 4?

This question has been popping up quite a bit lately. Kids are wondering if Bill Nye the Science Guy and I are going to write a fourth novel in the Jack and the Geniuses series. The short answer? Maybe. A very strong maybe. But not right now. Currently we’re busy working on a gigantic nonfiction kids science book that covers everything from quarks to galaxies. Evolution, zoology, tribology – it’s all in there.

As a result, Jack and the Geniuses 4 is on hold. That doesn’t mean we don’t care about the crew and where they’re going next. Or what SNOT is really up to. (Is it actually a division of NASA? Or is something more nefarious at work?) And the lack of a definite plan doesn’t mean we don’t care about you, reader. Of course not.

In the meantime, let me know if you have any ideas about where the next mystery should take place. Or better yet: Write a sequel yourself! It is #NanoWriMo after all.

  1. I’m really exited for the next book. I was thinking what if the next book takes place in New York City but have some crazy under ground research facility and thousands of workers and tubes that can send people all over the planet.

  2. You should make the next book take place in Haiti. So Ava can learn more about her heritage a little bit better. They could build an invention or solution to Haiti’s poverty. That would be really cool. You could explain that those agents are there to recruit them to help poor countries around the world and to spread inventions.

  3. Will the fourth be the last book? And will it end with saving the world or something instead of a smaller mission?

    1. Funny you should ask! We don’t have plans to write another JACK at the moment, but I AM writing a save-the-world novel, and one of the main characters is very excited about his opportunity to save the world.
